Bank stocks outperformed the market today, as the KBW Banking Index rose 7.87% and the KBW Regional Banking Index rose 4.51%. The broader S&P 500 Index was up 0.25%.

The Bank Index was led by Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, Citigroup, and Fifth Third Bancorp, which were up 33.02%, 25.00%, and 21.23%, respectively. Leading the Regional Banking Index were Central Pacific Financial Corp., East West Bancorp, and Cathay General Bancorp, which were up 18.24%, 17.12%, and 13.67%, respectively.
