Stocks declined today, as the KBW Banking Index fell 8.14% and the KBW Regional Banking Index fell 8.85%. The broader S&P 500 Index was down 2.01%.

The Bank Index was led by Fifth Third Bancorp, Synovus Financial, and Commerce Bancshares, which were down 17.05%, 16.97%, and 15.16%, respectively.  Leading the Regional Banking Index lower were Synovus Financial, Associated Banc-corp, and Eggemeyer Advisory Corp., which were down 16.97%, 15.90%, and 14.61%, respectively.
