Bank stocks declined today, as the KBW Banking Index fell 4.08% and the KBW Regional Banking Index fell 2.85%. The broader S&P 500 Index was down 1.27%.

The Bank Index was led lower by JP Morgan Chase, U.S. Bank, and Capital One, which were down 7.47%, 7.39%, and 7.15%, respectively. Leading the Regional Banking Index lower were CORUS Bankshares, Frontier Financial Corporation, and Colonial Bancgroup, which were down 8.18%, 7.50%, and 7.04%, respectively.
