Bank stocks declined today, as the KBW Banking Index fell 10.29% and the KBW Regional Banking Index fell 5.70%. The broader S&P 500 Index was down 3.48%.

The Bank Index was led by Capital One, Bank of America, and Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, which were down 20.24%, 17.85%, and 14.29%, respectively.  Leading the Regional Banking Index lower were Citizens Republic Bancorp, Central Pacific Financial Corp., and South Financial Group, which were down 14.38%, 14.08%, and 13.60%, respectively.
