Corporate Banking

Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) is comprised of relationship teams and investment bankers who have strong industry links and a thorough understanding of sector issues and trends. They serve customers from different industries, such as autos, chemicals, and global financial companies, offering them banking services, financial advice and cross border solutions.

Global Markets

With trading floors in 46 countries (largest floors in London, New York, Hong Kong and Paris) HSBC Global Markets professionals service over 5000 core clients globally. Within Global Markets (foreign exchange, fixed income or equities), HSBC employees actively assess and manage risk, trading securities and interacting with clients to structure and execute transactions in a fast paced and constantly changing market. It’s an exciting, demanding and rewarding environment.

Infrastructure

The Infrastructure departments work closely with internal clients to consistently add value and increase efficiency throughout the firm, allowing our businesses to continually capitalize on new opportunities. Infrastructure interns will work in a wide variety of roles across Finance, Operations, Business Risk Management and other areas within the infrastructure areas.

Investment Banking & Leveraged Acquisition Finance

Global Investment Banking plays a leading role in HSBC’s global growth strategy, by providing world class investment banking services to Global Banking & Markets exceptional corporate and institutional client list. Operating within global sector teams and led by some of the most admired specialists in the industry, the people we recruit will join one of the most dynamic and fast-moving advisory operations in the Americas. Basic Qualifications:


  • BA/BS, all majors are considered, concentration in finance or economics a plus
  • Undergraduates heading into their graduating senior year
  • Undergraduate degree: minimum 3.2 cumulative overall GPA
  • Appropriate eligibility and authorization to work in the United States during summer 2009
  • Superior quantitative, analytical, communication and leadership skills are essential
  • A willingness to commit to the full 10 week program (including social events) June – August
  • A second language is preferable, but not essential for all positions outside of Private Banking
  • Private Banking candidates should be fluent in three languages, with English being one of the three
  • Candidates should have a desire to obtain full time employment beginning in 2010
  • For Private Banking ONLY – A minimum of fluency in three languages
